报告人简介：Xiping Fu (傅曦平) is a Senior Data Scientist at PredictHQ, New Zealand. He is also a guest professor at School of Mathematics and Big Data, Foshan University. He obtained his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Zhejiang Normal University in 2007, followed by an MSc in Mathematics from Southeast University in 2010, and a Ph.D. from the University of Otago in 2016. His research interests encompass data mining, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection.

报告简介：In this presentation, we will have a brief introduction of causal inference and highlight its role in understanding the dynamics between variables and their effects on outcomes. Through practical examples, such as the impact of promotion activities on hotel revenue, we will detail the modelling and computing methods. We will demonstrate the application of these principles in demand intelligence, illustrating how businesses can leverage this knowledge to make informed decisions.
